2023 MPO PETER J. LAVERY MEMORIAL RIDE

19th Annual Peter J. Lavery Memorial Ride:
Sunday, September 17, 2023

The 19th Annual MPO Peter Lavery Memorial Ride is being held on Sunday, Sept. 17th, 2023 at Churchill Park, Newington. This ride is in memory of MPO Peter J. Lavery who was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 30, 2004 while responding to a domestic violence call. It is an event that honors the sacrifice he made, celebrates his life and love of motorcycling and keeps his memory alive.

MPO Lavery was an avid motorcycle rider throughout this adult life and was proud to be selected to serve on the Newington Police Department’s motorcycle unit.

Registration takes place from 8:00 – 9:45 with a $20 donation per bike requested. All law enforcement supporters on all makes of motorcycles are welcome. The ride departs at around 10:00 a.m. from Churchill Park and is escorted by many motor officers from throughout our state. The ride is held rain or shine. The route takes the riders from Churchill Park, Newington, through Berlin, Rocky Hill, Cromwell, Middletown, Portland, Glastonbury and Wethersfield before returning to Churchill Park at about 11:30.

19th Annual Peter Lavery Memorial Ride t-shirts will be sold in advance of the ride and limited supplies will be available at the ride. Connecticut Police Supply on Fenn Rd. in Newington is selling our t- shirts.

All proceeds benefit the Peter J. Lavery Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. For additional information please explore our website or like us on facebook @ MPO Peter J. Lavery Memorial Run.
